Hello,

I am a US citizen, and I currently live abroad with my wife (non US citizen) and our 3 kids (all US citizens). We are currently working on the I864 for my wife's green card.

My uncle has agreed to be a joint sponsor, but I'm pretty confused about how to calculate household size.

Obviously I'm calculating myself, wife and 3 dependent children - 5 on mine. However, I'm confused about my uncles calculation. It would be my wife, my uncle and my aunt - 3? The i864 specifically states "dependent children."

Is the joint sponsor including my kids? We're all moving together, but my kids are already citizens and don't need to be sponsored.

Please help - I'm quite confused with the instructions given my situation.

No, joint sponsor is only counting his household (if he has kids, then he has to include them) and the intending immigrant - your wife.
