Hi I applied for a new US Passport on July 24 2024 then they received my application on July 29 2024 then I received a letter asking for more additional information 3 times which I was struggling to find that's why it took for months. The last document I submitted was our lease agreement and my father's tax document for a proof of legal and physical custody of my US parent. So I sent it october 26 2024 then they received it October 29 2024 and my application status changed from additional information to information received, in process again October 30 2024.. it's been 2 weeks + since then and I never got a letter anymore so I was wondering, how long does it take to get approve of my passport and does the processing restart? I have my upcoming trip on February 2025 and my Green card also expires on the same month. I actually really scared, given the fact that Trump won and they have plans already so im scared that the processing will take longer now and my passport is still processing :( I got here in legal way by the way and so as my father but this thing still scares me.

I applied with routine by the way.
Do I have to call them and pay for expedite? or do i have to call my senator for help?
Thank you.

Normal passport processing is currently 4-6 weeks.  You're well within that, since you originally sent an incomplete packet.

No, a senator will not help with this.

Not sure what you mean by "restart," but clearly they cannot process incomplete packages.  Your processing started once your application was complete.

I mean by restart is the processing time, does it go back from the start again of 6-8 weeks? because some said it will continue the processing where they left it after sending me the letter for additional information. And some also said it will restart the processing.

I would expect 4-6 weeks from the time the completed application was received by them on 10/29/24.

Oh okay, well then I will wait next week because it's going 4 weeks next week. Hopefully I will get my passport before december as I have to get a plane ticket with the same flight with my parents (they got their tickets already)

Thank you so much. Have a great weekdays!
