Any recent approvals out of the Texas Service Center

i see atleast one familiar face here - james - how's it going? hi to everyone else, been ages since i've been on here. sick and tired of waiting for a freakin renewal.
applied in august of 2004, had my wife with greencard on us soil march of 2005. 7 months.

now, it's approaching 11 months since we applied for a stinkin renewal and still nothing!!

..i know, i know - i'm preaching to the choir - we're all in the same boat here.

Jun! What's up, buddy? Haven't seen you around in ages. Joel mentioned something about you a while back, but I came to assume you had managed to avoid the fate of us Losers. And you would have if only you had applied when your 90-day window opened! Seems like TSC stopped at mid- to late-January NOA1s back at the end of June and haven't moved all that much since.

Don't know where Joel has been recently -- he's in the same Loser life raft with me since, as you can see, his NOA1 is only a couple of days before mine. It is funny how we were all able to blow through a service center, NVC, and an embassy in 6-7 months to get an initial green card, and now it looks like it will take almost double that time just to get the conditions removed.

And yes, you CAN apply for citizenship now -- you could have back in December, 90 days before the third anniversary of your wife getting her green card. It doesn't matter if your I-751 hasn't been adjudicated yet. If for some reason the I-751 is still pending at the time of the citizenship interview, I'm told the interviewer will adjudicate it right then and there. Practically speaking, however, since the N-400 goes through TSC, I can't imagine it getting through there before the I-751.

What up Losers!
Still waiting for an approval, havent heard anything yet. On a positive note i just sent out my N-400... i will update when i get NOA. The way things are going the N-400 may process faster!

Kinda wacky that you have a 2/15 NOA1 and are still waiting (along with ven2lin with an even earlier one), while ihateemo has a 3/3 NOA1 and has been approved. I thought they processed these things in the order received . . . .

You may remember my earlier post about a service request I opened for my wife's application with a 2/13/07 NOA1 date, only to hear back 2 months after that my case was still within processing time (while it was showing April on the website) and that I will need to wait!!

Last week I got another letter from TSC with much worse news that further puzzles me what these guys are doing overthere!! It was a REPEAT appointment letter for Biometrics! Unbelievable!! She had done hers back on 3/15/2007 and the last updated date shows 3/16/2007 on her profile, so I thought it was done correctly! Now after almost 11 months from that date they are telling us to go for another Biometrics! The letter is almost identical to the previous appointment letter with absolutely no mention why this needs to be repeated or if there were any problems with the previous one!

I called customer service and they provided 0 help, basically reading some standard texts to me and saying that you need to make the 3-hour drive to the USCIS center for your appointment regardless of what has happened to the previous one and there is no way to find out what's going on!

My initial guess was that they had mixed up my N-400 application (which I filed in December '07) and its fingerprinting session with I-751's Biometrics but I was told that is probably not the case by the customer rep!

Has anyone had to repeat their Biometrics and after this long?! I wonder if this could add another year or so to the wait!

when i log into uscis to check on the case, the application type is listed as:

CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

what the heck is cr189? conditional residence - but what is 189 refer to - and is this the same thing everyone else sees?

i really ought to apply for citizenship, but my only concern is that applying kinda puts you in limbo again, and not sure if you can leave the country once you have applied? is that actually true - or some old wives tail?

i feel so out of it now - once i knew everything there was to know about immigration - now i've been reduced to newbie status. i know nothing!

Yes, that is the same thing everyone else is/has seen. The cr189 is an internal USCIS status/form designation.

Whoa, you really ARE out of it! Yeah, no problem traveling if you've applied for citizenship. Assuming you don't have the 10-year green card yet, you would just have to take the expired green card and the NOA1/I-797. However, since your NOA1 is going to expire on March 13, you will need to make an InfoPass appointment at the local district office to get an I-551 stamp in your wife's passport if she wants to travel/come back into the country after March 13.

People still PM me and ask about NVC stuff . . . I made a stab at it but gave up.

So is TSC still transferingto CSC?

Actually, TSC recently started transfering to VSC instead. I don't know why because VSC has been taking 6 months or so, while CSC was knocking them out in 2-3 months from NOA1.

I just got an email (almost fell off my couch to see an email from USCIS) saying that my case was transferred to Vermont! :angry: ####### ????!!!!! Their processing times are even longer than TCS :angry: Looking on the bright side of life, at least the case got a chance to get dusted :wacko: Has anyone else been dumped to Vermont or knows what this is all about??

On my lunch hour today, I sent a letter to my Senator. When I came home from work, my husband had a letter from USCIS. Wow, senator, that was quick :lol:

RFE. Sigh. More detail in another post. I'm just here to update the Loser list (and :crying: ).
