Timeline

A small but crappy part about it is the constant emails I get from visajourney about an update to my timeline. It is never right, the other week it told me my application was approved (lol) and I checked the forum timeline and it says there arent enough cases. Today I got another update that said januar 2025, but then I log on here and it says not enough applications for a timeline again. 😕

I've unsubscribed from VJ email estimates.

The last 2 times I had the same thing happen, it said I was approved and when I would click on the account link in the email it was someone else's account both times.

So I've decided to opt out. And the estimate before that was all over the place, October, November, February, January. Once I realized that there aren't enough cases here in my range I unsubscribed.

I'll probably subscribe to tmvn for a month if we don't get any news by the end of the year as my free trial ended.

How many months have you been waiting? Mine I-130 petition took 14 months. The celebration ended quickly when I found out that the visa interview wait iat the U.S. Embassy in Manila will take an additional 12 months. So now I am 17 months into the overall process.

It's tough, guys, but it WILL happen.  Keep the faith.

Here's the thread that I posted when my process was finally done:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/410945-k-1-journey-completed/

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

According to your VJ timeline, you filed at the end of July. Unfortunately that is still quite short in terms of waiting for USCIS approval.

Hang in there! It's never an easy process but it's worth it in the end. Just remember that patience is really the key with immigration processes.

Even when USCIS approves the petition, you still have to go through the several stages after NOA2 approval and that also takes several months. My fiancé likes to say it's a marathon not a sprint 😁

Like T-Bone said, check out his thread - it really gives some perspective when you see how difficult and long the journey was in previous years. We decided anything under a year would be a blessing after reading multiple threads like the ones seen on this forum.

Yes, LDRs are tough, and yes immigration processing times are long.  Patience is required when working with those two I mentioned, and thankfully there are a great many ways couples can communicate while waiting for things.

Good Luck!

I know this distance feels heavy right now, but it's a testament to the strength of the love you share. Each day apart brings you closer to the day when you'll never have to say goodbye again. Hold on to that vision of your future together—it’s worth every challenge. Love this strong can weather any storm, and soon, this will just be a chapter in your story of triumph and togetherness.
