Hey everyone! I hope you’re all doing well. I wanted to share that my wife got accepted into med school in the US in July of 2023. Hence, she hasn’t been able to come back to me for the past 2 years and 2 months because of the time constraints and the high cost of flights. Do you think this might have any impact on my interview? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Yes, that is a major red flag.

Absolutely.  I have seen denial letters based on no visitation for years.  When is your interview?

Probably February 2025. She is enrolled to medical school in the US as a regular student since July 2023. The thing is she is sponsored by the Army and she has to attend extra army related training in her break.

She gets no time off?

Have you visited her?

From a US perspective, well from most, that is not normal.

Yes exactly 2 years and 2 months

That is a long time for spouses to never see each other.  I suggest she find a some time to visit her spouse.

*** Thread moved from Progress Reports to Process & Procedures ***

At my interview I was explicitly asked when was the last time I saw my significant other. It was during COVID time when lockdowns were everywhere too. They do not care about that, or being in med school or jobs giving little time off, long DQ dates, etc.
