Sadly no, hoping to get it within a few months. Fingers crossed for a combo card so I can visit my home country before starting a job while waiting for the green card.

I've seen that AOS from K1 took like 3-6 months in 2024, but also that processing times are increasing again? I don't know what to believe, we'll see.

Things are changing, and even 3-6 months was more of an exception than rule

The crazy thing is that in the run up to us filing Jaycel's AOS, we watched quite a few videos and read timelines for people whose I-765 status went to approved within a couple of days after the biometrics appointment and getting the card in the mail within a couple of weeks after that. It's crazy how it can vary so wildly. The only consistent thing I can see with the ones we saw that were being approved so quickly is they are folks since the fee increases that opted to file only the I-765 and not the I-131 concurrently with their I-485. Jaycel stayed in touch with some of the women she met at her interview in the embassy that are also K-1 and 2 of them got their EADs within 6 weeks of filing.

I have read that I-765 may get approved quicker without also filing I-131, but I still wanted to get it as there is no way to know how long the green card will take. Then again some people never get Advance Parole and get the green card first so who knows 😑

I'm just glad my K-1 application was approved quickly and I can wait here with my wife and daughter, I planned for around a year long wait for the green card.

Yes, I heard the same thing. We just decided that the number of AOS that are approved before the I-131 is adjudicated to us made spending that extra $630 not seem worth it LOL

Because I'm such an **** Retentive when it comes to attention to detail and because I've studied all of this process intently for the last 15 months or so.... Here's an interesting tidbit for anyone else that is a bit of a nerd like I am with this stuff. Jaycel had her Biometrics appointment yesterday and while we were inside the ASC, her case statuses changed to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" as expected. The first pic is how it looked in the online portal the night before the biometrics. The second pic is what it looks like as of yesterday afternoon. No "Concurrent Filing" anymore and the I-765 with a higher receipt number is now on top. AND over the course of the last day, the order of the cases has flip-flopped several times. Sometimes the I-485 is on top and sometimes the I-765 is. Just a weird tidbit. Not saying it means anything but definitely have not stumbled across anyone talking about something like this over the last 15 months in my studies 🤪

Oh... and on the I-765, the "Estimated time until your case decision" went from 3 months to 40 months LOL 😂

Ugh.... Still no biometrics appointment. Out of 8862 I-485s in our IOE-09-286 receipt block, we are one of only 995 that are still sitting at "Case Was Received". My poor wife..... She doesn't care how long the GC takes to be approved, she just wants to work. :(

@Edward and Jaycel Just curious but how do you know how many I-485 filers are in your receipt block?

An update (IOE-09-284 receipt block) :

I-765 EAD was approved 12/27, one month after our biometrics appt on 11/26. (Nothing has moved on the I-485 since biometrics.)

Wishing everyone here a happy and hopeful 2025!

I just got the approval for my I-765 roughly 2 1/2 weeks after biometrics, block IOE09286. I read it could be approved within 1-2 months but didn't really believe it, thanks for the nice surprise USCIS 😄

I also needed it to prove my immigration status by beginning of March to stay eligible for the PA health insurance (I-485 receipt notice wasn't enough for them), so glad that's done even if no combo card.

Congrats!! We have the same receipt block. Hopefully we'll get Jaycel's I-765 approval soon. It's only been 2 days since the biometrics so we got a bit to go :)

Question for you @AUTtoPA.... after Jaycel's biometrics appointment when hers cases statuses changed to "Your case is being actively reviewed by USCIS", the "Concurrent Filing" tag disappeared from her online case status page and both cases look to be separate now. Did this happen to yours after the biometrics too?

The I-485 is the first box without it and I-765+I-131 are in a second box where it says concurrent filing on the top left.

Ok thanks! It looks like, after the biometrics, they decouple the I-485 from the other cases. Your I-765 & I-131 would stay concurrent I presume since they would likely issue a combo card right?
