Currently working on our AOS paperwork, for K1 and K2s.

My kids and I were issued our visas in late August, and flew out Sept 2. We only found out at the Airport that my K2's birth date was wrong on his visa, written MAR instead of MAY.

Delta called "Honolulu" and who wrote it off as a clerical error, and let us fly. I was advised to just let Immigration know when we landed.

When I let the Immigration agent know in LA, he chuckled and said it happens all the time, and that he'd take care of it.

Unfortunately, my K2's I-94 still has the wrong birthday, and I'm unsure how to check if its updated anywhere else either.

Should I just attach a letter to the AOS paperwork explaining the situation, or are there steps I can take beforehand to cover our bases?

You can Google "I94 Deferred Inspection" and read how to fix an incorrect I94. It should be corrected before filing AOS. It in fact, should've been corrected before US entry.
