K1 Visa - Frankfurt Embassy Packet 3

Hello! Our K1 visa case reached the Frankfurt embassy late last week. From what I’ve seen online, some people wait to receive the packet from Frankfurt before doing anything, while others fill out the online DS-160 form and schedule the medical exam before they receive the packet. I’ve also heard that the packet could take 2 weeks to arrive and that some people never even receive the packet until after they’ve gotten their K1 visa and are in the US already.

Should we wait to receive packet 3 from Frankfurt? I am worrying that it could take weeks or months to arrive and isn't even necessary, and waiting for it could delay the visa process for no reason. Though maybe it contains vital info that shouldn't be ignored? If you received the packet, how long did it take to arrive after your case reached the embassy? I’m not sure what to do and would love any advice. Thanks!

I personally didn't wait. I just scheduled it because it literally is a letter with like a QR code if I recall, sending you to the website with a list. (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/FRN-Frankfurt.html).
I didn't have any issues, and my packet 3 arrived only a week later.

I did not wait, and I am glad I didn't as I never received the packet. All the information is available online so go for it.

Reading is what? Fun-da-men-tal!

Hey all! My fiance filled out the DS-160 form, paid the application fee, and emailed the embassy at frankfurtvisainquiries@state.gov using the info from the Frankfurt list. She received back an automated message. Does she need to email back with that mentioned subject line? We weren’t sure since this isn’t a visa question, it’s so that we can schedule an appointment. Why do you think?

i believe the automated message comes no matter what you put in the subject line.

putting a specific subject line just gets it to the right section of the embassy.

so she should get an actual response if it was sent with the right subject line.

**the correct subject line is provided in the packet 3 letter.

she can request it be emailed if her packet has been at the embassy for more than 30 days and she hasnt received packet 3

This is so helpful! Also didn’t know about emailing if she hasn’t gotten the packet yet. Thank you so much!
