Gas edging down towards the $2.50 mark

I fill up once, maybe twice a month. I work from home so most of the driving I do is just errands. the savings of not having to commute adds up pretty quick.

$40 per week over 52 weeks is $2080 per year.

$40 per month over 12 months, $480 per year.

Perfect time to buy that Hummer.

Not the girly one. It has got to be the real deal.

If it gets more than 10 miles to the gallon it ain't a Hummer.

I'm with you 100%. The H2 and H3 aren't real hummers. They are just built on GM truck frames.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Think I paid about $2.84 a gallon yesterday just south of Tucson. Not bad. Takes a bit more than $30 to fill the tank and I can go for over 3 weeks without needing a refill.

3 weeks??? :o Do you push it to work?

 I live about 10 mins from work. It's why I'm living in a not so interesting area because of the short commute time. Also though, all the things I need are pretty close by as well.

In my old job, I was driving 40 miles round trip and putting $50+ in the truck tank weekly. I'm now driving a Corolla so what I'm saving in gas a month is close to a car payment.

The difference is taxes. European governments tend to charge a lot more taxes on stuff like gasoline. Thats also the reason why the roads and infrastructure is better than it is here.

Yup! You are right, but anyway it isn't like the people in Germany make more money then in the States. But, yes, German taxes are just ridiculous.

Also, in European countries in general, cities are not spaced out like here in the US. A larger portion of people live in the cities they work, and the word "suburb" in the same context it is defined in the US is unheard of in Europe.
