Thank you @appleblossom, I thought that is how it worked too, but as I've not gone down this path. I didn't want to misinformed the OP.

Good morning,

First off, thank you to all of you for helping me bring the REAL issue into focus.

Most importantly, I am so sorry Ontarkie that I did not take the time to investigate when you advised me to do so.  If I came off as dismissive I did not mean to be.  Thank you so much for your help.

Appleblossom and Mam I also want to thank you too.  You have guided me to a path to perhaps get this done with far less effort.  I will have more questions and I would appreciate the guidance you can all give as we march along.  I am now in my 70's and I have to admit that after getting my wife's PR to Canada and my own green card (twice) I am just about immigrationed out.

I am now digging in to getting set up on the portal to make the online application for a PRTD and the renewal of the PR card.  The guide specifies that my wife must have a PRTD so I assume that she cannot simply go to Canada on a tourist visa because she is a resident and not a tourist.

I will post progress here and I hope you are all kind enough to help me what is sometimes anxiety more than uncertainty.

You are all wonderful!!

I'm happy others were able to help. I didn't know enough to direct you to the information. It really was great for them to help you out and now you have the tools to get you going.❤️
