I've seen this is pretty standard timeline, but... What to expect now? Just wait for months? Thanks!

-Packet sent: Sep. 23rd, 2024
-I-751 received: Sep. 26th, 2024 (Priority Date) Sep. 26th, 2024 (Priority Date)
-Notice of Action: Oct. 10th (48-month extension letter)
-Biometrics Appt. Completed: Nov. 8th & “Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS” on MyUSCIS
*Service Center: NBC

Yes.  It is normal to have complete silence until the time you qualify for citizenship.  In our extreme case, our I-751 took 44 months for approval (4 months after wife submitted her N-400).

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes, you just wait. Not months, but probably closer to 2 years!

Because if the package arrives even 1 day early, USCIS will reject it.  Believe me, you don't want to go through the hassle.

Few days and even a week or two won't make much difference. My friend filed I-751 3 weeks after me and got approved 4 months earlier. Everybody who filed on my week were delayed. You never know whether filing today or tomorrow will give you faster adjudication, it's unpredictable.  Risking the whole petition by filing on first day isn't worth it.

Good luck on this segment of your journey.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.  The citizenship segment is much easier.
