N400 Application AND GC Extension?

My GC expires in Nov 2025.  I want to apply for my citizenship.  If I get the n400 process underway, does it imply I get a Green Card extension too or do I need to apply for that separately?

 

I just worry if the n400 process takes too long (beyond my GC expiration), I'll lose my ability to work and live in the US.  I'm based in the DFW area, if that makes a difference.

Filing the N400 does not extend the validity of your physical GC.  I assume you have a 10yr GC, so you should file the I90 to get updated proof of your status.

It does. Upon filing N-400, an extension letter for GC is issued.

Yes, you'll get extension for your GC when applying for N-400. No worries, just apply

Even if you don't apply for naturalization and your GC expires it does not mean your LPR status expires (unless it is a conditional GC), your ability to live and work in the US is not affected by an expired GC. Granted, you might run into various issues traveling and proving your status, so it makes life easier to not put yourself in that situation.

Even with conditional GC. Since only immigration judge can take LPR status away.

GC once expired can always be regularized either with an extension on your passport(I-551) or I-94 sent to your mail box after you have applied. I made use of stamps on my passports.
