Hello!

I have my citizenship interview scheduled for next week. I submitted my application on paper and mailed it to USCIS. The shipping label was created on the earliest eligible date (according to the USCIS calculator), and it arrived at USCIS a day later. I did this to ensure I wasn’t filing early!

However, the receipt date on my USCIS notice is the same as the shipping label date, which is the earliest eligibility date. I've heard of cases where applications are denied for being filed on the earliest eligible date, so I’m concerned this might happen to me.

I have the USCIS receipt showing it arrived one day after the earliest eligible date and I plan to bring that to the interview. Do you think I can convince the officer by that which proves the receipt date on my USCIS notice is not accurate? If anyone has advice or insights on this situation, I’d really appreciate it!

If you were not eligible you pull not be interviewed

Not necessarily.  Remember this one?

To the OP, make sure you have all the dates correct (double and triple check them) in case the IO asks any questions.

Good Luck!

Wow! I do read they got that overturned (and rightfully so) but that is a good thing to remember!

Yes, it was a big headache for that member.  This story is the main reason many here recommend waiting at least a couple of days to submit an I751 or N400 after the early filing window opens up.

If you're eligible, you're eligible.

But this is a sage reminder to everyone to wait a couple of days before filing, if you are filing in that early window.  It really doesn't make a difference, time-wise, and it can save you alot of stress.

Agreed.
