Hello everyone,

I would like to thank everyone here for the great support and help i've seen so far and that's why i decided to join the site and ask about my situation.

My parents are both US citizens and they have filed an i-130 in 2021 which got approved last month, i've added my spouse since she's coming with me which they have also approved, but for the F3 class it has a limited number of visas so until now there is no updates on the NVC site. My question is (if anyone had a similar situation) how long did it take to finally have a visa and started the procedure with paying fees on NVC. Or if someone has an idea of the period when i could get a response.

Best regards

Hello Dashinka and thank you for your response,

Mine was filed in DEC 2021 and it's the same as the Priority Date

OK, so you have about an 11-13 year wait for a visa to be available according to the latest visa bulletin.

Good Luck!

I feel saddened but let's hope for the best, thank you again dashinka

Yes, the numerically limited visas for family members you and I would consider immediate relatives, but the government rules do not, are an issue.  My wife filed for her son back in 2019, so we are a little further along, but yes, it is a long wait.  The good thing about the F3 category though is it allows for derivatives, so if you and your spouse have children, your parents do not need to file additional I130's for them.

Good Luck!

In our case parents applied same category, priority date 2011, application approved 2014, nvc asked for doc sep 2024 and working on affidavit. Hope that helps!

In my case parents applied for F1 when i wasn’t married and dad was a green card holder and then i got married during that period, when he got his citizenship few months back he asked the officer and told him to send him the marriage certificate so i think the officer changed the status to F3 and got my approval in october 2024. Let’s just hope for the best and thank you for your help
