N-600k Two applications 2 years apart

Hello guys!

Wondering if anyone has had experience with two separate applications and USCIS consolidating it into 1 application to save time.

I applied for my first son in May 2022 - Miami office - wait time of 36 months. Didn't know I could check wait times at the time.

Now my second son was born, and am debating applying via Miami (still 36 months) or via Puerto Rico (5 months).

Ideally I could do Miami in one shot, but over the phone no guidelines were provided and they recommended I talk to a lawyer...

What do you mean when talking about consolidating two cases into one? They're separate cases and will be decided separately in their own time.

You cannot rely on estimated times, each case is unique. Not sure how you have a choice deciding where to file, can you please elaborate?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I live abroad, don't have a physical US address, and would be travelling for the interview process. That said, I would believe I can decide where to file.

Due to the fact that I would have to travel with the child, grandmother, mother, etc, doing 1 trip only would be a great cost saver.

I understand why you want to have only one trip and merge two cases into one. I don't believe this is something USCIS would do.
