Hi everyone! I am filling out my wife's AOS paperwork (I am a U.S. citizen, she is an F-1 visa student here in the U.S.) and had a question about what to put for "other names used". She uses her legal first name for all her paperwork and legal stuff, but because it's hard to pronounce, she has a more American nickname that she uses socially, as in, with me, friends, family, acquantainces, etc., but this is NOT listed on any legal paperwork.

Although it says to list "nicknames" under "Other names used" on various forms like the I-130, I saw some posts where people said they listed these types of non-legal nicknames and got hit with RFE's to show official name change proof related to the nickname.

I would like to avoid that type of RFE, so in this case, should we just list her legal names and forget the nicknames, OR list the nickname under "Other Names Used" and then a note at the end saying it's a non-legal nickname she uses socially and there is no legal documenation showing this nickname?

Thanks!
