So which is it? Did you already withdraw your application? Or are you considering withdrawing? If you have not withdrawn yet, don't. There are ways to lengthen the process so you may be able to delay things until you are ready to move.

You seem highly confused about the different processes. You and your partner should BOTH be doing a lot of research to better understand what works best for you.

I think we just cancelled it.. I really do love her and I’m contemplating.. I want her really bad and I’m thinking of dropping my studies totally just to be with her. Must we wait 2 years to refile? Can I just go there and get married haha

Our lawyer tried to get a reply from the consulate but they said it was rejected.

@vivian57 Have you canceled the I-129 already? If not, when did your fiance file? If you haven't withdrawn the application yet, don't. You can lengthen the time to be perfect with your school completion. It would be in your best interest to lengthen the application time within each of the steps over canceling and reapplying. The cost alone should encourage you to not cancel. The fees are not refunded and would have to be repaid.

I also must echo what Marieke H said above. You both should know how this process works by researching on the USCIS website and read through everything. Also research how long it actually takes from start to finish without lengthening the time. The timelines for others currently is a year from submitting the first application to their fiance coming to the US to finally be married.

Side note: I don't blame your fiance for being a bit upset. Waiting to start your life isn't comfortable or desirable for most folks. We don't know how much time we are given to live and so much can change month to month, let alone year to year. I wish you the best outcome for your and your partner 💜

The thing is we got the letter for next step which NOA2 medical check up and interview I think I was the one that was not ready as I am still trying to finish my school.. Now that I realize the major I’m studying is not what I want I’m dropping it but we already cancelled the K1 Visa. Is there any alternative way?

You think? Or are you sure? It is important to know exactly what you did, so you know what your options are. Please don't make any more big decisions without fully understanding the consequences.

Yes, if you are able to visit (on a tourist visa or VWP), you can visit and get married. Then you can start the CR-1 process, go home to finish your studies, and by the time you graduate you will start to get close to having your interview at the consulate.

Yes thats the plan, she gave me the time to finish what I can here and see how it goes as it was traumatic for both of us and its better for us to heal from it first before we jump another gun
