A few questions and it will be over before she realises.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Hello,

My mother in law has a B2 interview later this month in a Beijing. She is retired and doesn’t speak English. What should she expect for the interview?

Thanks!

What ties does she have to return back after her time is finished for authorized stay, if approved

Her age is her primary tie to return back, Tourist visa for the elderly is pretty much a slam dunk for approval.  Once you get that old you have all the ties in the world to return home.

Handful of quick question:

What's you name?

What's was your maiden name?

Are you retired?

Who is paying for trip?

How long do you plan on staying?

I would be surprised if there are many other questions for MIL.

Please post they questions she was asked after her interiew

She was refused.

Said not enough assets to tie her back...

Will have to retry.

Sorry to hear. Despite some statements that it would  be a “slam dunk”, unfortunately most are not. Reapply for sure .. but she will have to overcome the concerns that resulted in  the  IO denying her .. not likely to be an easy task
