Filing i485 -- some last minute questions!

I'll be filing an i485 today and have some questions.

1) Should I put anything in the MEMO field of the personal check for the i485 check or the i765 check?

2) Is it a major disadvantage to not file the i693 now? I know they can ask for it later, but how much will that delay the whole process?

3) If I do an examination today to file the i693 with the rest, do the results of that evaluation expire? Someone told me they expire in 3 months and if my packet is still processing in 3 months (as I suspect it will be) I'd rather not have to pay for an entirely new examination.

4) Does it matter what order my pages are in? Right now my packet looks like:

- Form i-485 with a check for $1440 paper clipped to the front.

- Paper clipped to the back of the i485 I have: US spouse's birth certificate, immigrant spouse's foreign birth certificate, 2x2 passport style photos of both spouses, copy of immigrant's passport, copy of stamps page of immigrant's passport, most recent I-94

- Form G-1145

- Form I-765 with a check for $260 paper clipped to the front.

- Form I-864

- Paper clipped to the back of I-864 I have: 2023 Federal tax return

2. Not including I-693 can delay case by at least 4-6 weeks. It's not rare to see few months.

Thank you for the response! Do you have any guidance for the memo section of the check?

Memo on checks: Joe Doe, I-485  and Joe Doe, I-765

Send in medical, they don’t expire

Do solid research throughout the process, don’t rely on “ I heard” ..

Stack your forms first , order you listed is ok , then put all Supporting Docs behind the forms.

‘’Should do a simple cover letter/exhibit list of attachments and clip the 2 payments to that letter . Put letter on top of packet

So all the forms, then all the supporting docs?

Or FORM, SUPPORTING DOCS FOR THAT FORM, FORM 2, SUPPORTING DOCS FOR FORM 2?

ALL supporting docs together , you do not need to specify the form.

No I don’t, but you draft a simple one

Thread is moved from the K-1 Process forum to the "AOS from K Visas" Process forum -- OP is at that stage.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

these days the general advice is to file your i-485 with the medical. The medical is valid indefinitely so there is no reason not to include it. Waiting to get an RFE for it is a waste of time!

The point is, if OP completed medical overseas DS-3025 with all vaccinations completed, they may not need I-693.
