long story short, wife's n400 got approved, she had her interview early October and that got approved too, so we are waiting for her oath ceremony date to be scheduled.

so far we waited 3 weeks and still nothing.

we just found out her mother is very sick and we need to go back to her home country.

does anyone know how to  Expedite Oath Ceremony? is there a paper work we need to fill out, or do we need to call someone?

this is for the Portland Oregon field office

thanks

I found this related to Portland Oregon.  More than likely she will see the oath in November.  It is a bit of a quandary as once she takes the oath she will need to get a US Passport before traveling.  I suggest leaving now if the mother is in a bad state with plans to return in a few weeks for the oath, and prepare the passport application material.  I have never heard of expedited oath ceremonies for offices that do not conduct same day oaths.

Good Luck!

If push comes to shove, the oath ceremony can be rescheduled.  I've not heard of an expedited oath ceremony, just a rescheduled one.

Good luck!

Nothing like expedited oath ceremony. Travel with ur green card simple, but might miss a scheduled date while you are out. Alternatively, she can send money home for mom's treatment rather than going home at this crucial time. If u miss a date, it might take long getting rescheduled. Tnx

are you sure the oath ceremony will be at the Hatfield U.S. Courthouse??

i thought they did oath ceremony at the USCIS field center. when my wife had here n400 interview on Oct 8, they were doing oath ceremony on that date.

the USCIS field address is:

1455 NW Overton St #1, Portland, OR 97209
