Congrats! 3 or 5 year rule? Did she go alone or with you?

Thanks! Since my wife is married to me as a natural born US citizen it's only 3 years to apply for a US citizen. 5 years if you are unmarried and a lawful permanent resident. Yes, I went with her because she doesn't drive yet! LOL!  But I had to wait outside till the interview was done.

Since my wife and I are married it's only 3 years to apply for a US citizineship. Unmarried lawful permanent residents have to wait 5 years to apply. I did go with her to her interview since she doesn't drive yet!! I waited outside for her to finish her interview. Just got a notice of action that her oath ceremony will be March 15! So the journey is almost complete.

This is not how it works. Anybody who is a resident for 5 or more years can apply based on 5 year rule, regardless how they got GC.

I applied on 5 year rule, even though I got GC based on marriage to US citizen and still married.

It's awesome that interview was quick and you weren't needed for N-400 under 3 year rule.

Congrats on oath ceremony!!!

Congrats on oath ceremony!!!

Thanks and happy to finally get this immigration process over with. At least I know my wife will never have to worry about being deported because she came over through the front door UNLIKE many illegals who are crying the blues now because they came here illegally and getting deported. It's about time and totally unfair to those of us who filed for our loved ones LEGALLY!!
