New job since DQ

Hi,

Since being DQ'd I was offered a new job (started last week), the new job will allow me to continue my role in the US once I have my visa (written in the contract), do I need to inform anyone before my interview on Friday or can I just take a copy of the contract and explain there?

Thanks

Derek

I would explain it to the CO at the interview.  Does this change the I864 your USC spouse submitted?  Immigrant’s income can factor in if their income will continue from the same source after immigrating.

Good Luck!

Hi,

Thanks, I'll mention it to them, it doesn't change the I864 that my wife submitted as we used savings in excess of the requirements (along with assets).

The company I previously worked for wouldn't let me continue my (global) role from the US (initially they would but several restructures and a change of management changed this), I was offered a role with a different company and they've added the US role to my contract so I have it in writing, hopefully it will help with the decision as I believe we could now use this income on the I864, along with this I've sold my house (would have been moving anyway) so could also mention that.

If I wanted this income to be included (in case it helps the decision) would it be worth completing a new I864 and taking it along just in case?

Thanks again

Derek

Yes, that is what I would do.  COs prefer regular income vs. assets.

I agree with @carmel34, I would do up a new I864 and also take that to the interview.

Thank you, I've updated my I864 and will take it along with the copy of my contract confirming the US salary once I move there, I've also since sold my house so will take the updated proof of funds.

I was planning on just taking it to the interview, my current one has already been DQ'd so didn't want to update incase it wasn't mentioned at the interview

Thanks Derek

Even my spouse changed his job in September and the income is almost same just 1000 dollars up so i would just take updated i1864 with the old one and proof of current employment since we have been already dqed with 2023 w2s , tax transcripts ..

Just been approved, I told the interviewer about my new role and contract, he just said he didn't need to see it.
