How do I withdraw my K-1 petition?

Hi Everyone,

I previously was engaged and applied for the K-1 fiancée visa for my ex-fiancée, however, she called off the engagement in May of 2024. So things ended. Then I received an email that my petition had reached the Islamabad embassy in August. I’d didn’t really bother doing anything since I just didn’t care anymore and thought the petition would expire since I wouldn’t be responding to the request for interview or any other steps. But now I’m wondering how can I withdraw it? I just don’t want any negative consequences from doing nothing. I sent an email to both NVC and US embassy in Islamabad . NVC told me to contact the embassy. I emailed the embassy twice but haven’t heard back. What should I do?

You've done everything needed to withdraw the I-129f.  In addition, approved I-129fs are only valid for 4 months.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

how come they aren’t responding to my email or giving a confirmation?

Some consulates are just slow.  You have notified both USCIS and the consulate.  Nothing more you can do.  Nothing more needs to be done.  Don't over think it.

You can Fed Ex a letter to the Embassy in Islamabad, Make it your withdrawl letter and have it Fed Ex to Islamabad, Send your back up documentation with it as well.

You should get a letter back from the Embassy/Consulate Section saying "the approval of an immigrant  or fiance petition is automatically revoked upon:

The Formal notice of withdrawl filed by the petitioner.

Letter take about 30 to 45 days to show up at your place via US Mail.

Perhaps consider the marriage route

Which consulate?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

A tough consulate definitely go the marriage route

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
