April Filers - NVC to Interview

Well I finally got sent from NVC today...woo hoo!

I've tried to set an interview appointment already, but apparently that loophole has now been closed and I have to wait until they receive it. I will try again Friday. Congrats to all those who have achieved milestones since my last post and good luck to all of those on the threshold. Have a great week!

Can you actually "set" an interview appointment yourself? I thought the embassy has to schedule it.

For Kyiv you actually set it yourself. You now telephone a callcenter, which costs money, and then they help you make the appointment. A filer more senior than myself told me to call as soon as I have my KEV# and set the appointment. I tried that, but now it appears that the case only makes it into their system when the embassy receives it. So alas I must wait for a couple more days and try again, since this time I pay for my impatience.

Very interesting! This way people going through Kiev don't have to wait 2 months for their interview! I assume you can set it as soon as possible. We are going through Moscow, it's been almost two weeks after NVC and still no interview date. Will wait...

That is not quite true. The average (on VJ) is 54 days for Kyiv, but I know of 2 people who were over 60 days out for their interview. It's not much faster than Moscow, but one can assume that Moscow moves a much larger number of Visas through that Embassy.

Thanks for the congrats, one more step in the big game...

And I agree, there is no forgiveness for the NOA2 debacle, but nonetheless 6 months give or take isn't bad. It's very refreshing to think that this is almost over.

When do you find out about your interview date? Hopefully it will be VERY soon.

Ooh..I haven't sent in my checklist yet, coz I'm still waiting for my Police Cert, and my fiance's I-134 form, he made a boo boo on it, so gotta send it again, oh well. But according to the VJers here who've gone thru the Singapore consulate, once they sent in their checklists, they got their Packet 4 with the interview date pretty quick, so I'm not too worried here.......

I'm so relieved and ecstatic at the same time now...just found out our medical and interview dates from the IV site!

The end is finally getting closer for us. I'm happy to see that many of us april filers are now making bigger progress! Woohoo! More power to us all!

My Packet 3/4 has arrived - just picked it up from the postal office. Actually it was there since Friday but the notice came only yesterday.

Did you see your interview date on Moscow embassy website prior to receiving the packet? I wonder if it gets posted there before or after they send the packet...

I guess the date on the website appears soon after they get the case from NVC. Mine left NVC on 28 Aug, must have arrived some time around 2-4 Sept., and on Sept. 5 I saw the date on the website. The mailing date on the yellow packet is Sept. 5.
