Hello everyone, here is my Timeline so far :)

AOS/EAD sent (USPS) to IL LB: Oct 25th

NOA1: Oct 29th

Biometrics: Dec 3rd

Interview: n/a

Same day as my Biometrics I received a message from USCIS on my online account, they have actively reviewed my cases, nothing is outstanding so far.

I know, next step can take something from a few months to almost a year. So I will just relax and wait patiently. 😉

Just a couple updates for you guys:

On Nov 20th Jon went for his biometrics.  As he was finishing up the 5 minute appointment, I got an alert that his case had been updated.  two days later on the 22nd, his EAD was approved.  We received the physical card in the mail 10 days after that.

We've had some trouble with the banks getting him qualified for a secured credit card so he can build stateside credit (shame, his score in ZA was outstanding), but finally broke through at US Bank this week.  Also got him on the lease, even though that was complete after the I-485 was submitted.  We'll have that documentation ready for an interview if needed.  Rumor has it they're returning to interviews and phasing out waivers.  We'll see.

Wishing everyone a happy holiday season!

We can't see a relevant timeline, just one for citizenship.  Can you please update to your K1/AOS details so we can improve on current timelines for all?  Thank you!

what are the chances they allow early visit?

I wouldn't show up without an appointment for that day and time - But you can re-schedule. Here's my post on how we did it. The only update is that the new appointment notice does show up in your documents tab after about a day:

In case anyone needs to do this.... Our status changed to "Biometrics Appointment Was Scheduled" on Friday. Within an hour we were able to see the appointment letter in the Documents tab online. We saw that it was scheduled for 01/07/2025. This was a problem as Jaycel doesn't have her driver license yet and I have work that day with meetings that would have been difficult to get out of. So we went to the online portal and under "My Account" there is a link for "Reschedule Biometrics Appointment". We went there and selected the reason for the reschedule request, put in the receipt #, the date of the original appointment, the service center and her DOB. It then gave various available dates to reschedule and when you select one, it gives the times available that day. We selected 12/26 and there were like 8 slots open that day. Once we submitted it, we got the email that "An Action Has Been Taken on Your Case". Our case status updated that Biometrics Appointment was scheduled on December 24. 2024 and about 15 minutes later we received another email that "An Action Has Been Taken on Your Case" and this was the completion of the reschedule and the notice was available for download. Be aware, you have to go back into the "Reschedule Biometrics Appointment" and look under "View Submitted Requests" in order to get the new notice. So far it has not shown up in the regular "Documents" tab.

If you have free time, you can try it. Many VJ users reported success showing up early without appointment. Of course, there is a chance you won't let be in.

Or follow @Edward and Jaycel advice for more certainty.
