hi everyone. this is my first post, and I'm happy for any guidance. My fiancee will be getting here August 31st and will be getting married the following week. There is a Hawaii trip that we wanted to go on in late October, but that is only 40-45 days after the time we got married. I saw on the application, that there is a place on "when planned travel" will be. DO they take this into consideration, like do they see that you want to go at a certain time and try to get those complete quickly?

Also, like with our passports here in the US, is there an option to get it done more quickly? Like an expedited service?

Thanks everyone for reading this!

First Welcome to VJ.... you will need to allow at least 90 + days for approval of AP... there is no way to expidite your application except in an emergency ie. life or death situation...

Hawaii is within the US so you do not need an AP to travel there... as long as you are flying direct ly there and back you will be fine...

Hope this helps

WOW! Really?? I had been told she could only fly within the 48 continental United States. But Hawaii is ok also?

That would make my day.

I appreciate the quick response. :D

You do not need anything to travel to Hawaii if departing and returning directly to the US. You only need some sort of ID to go trough security when boarding your flight. I spent my honeymoon there while waiting for AOS.

Jetson, How did you like hawaii? I'm thinking of having my honeymoon there as well.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Loved it! Went to Maui.

Best thing to do is rent a condo/apartment. Nice hotels are expensive and so is eating out. You save quite a lot by having the main meals at home and going out only on special times. During the day just take something with you to the beach. If you want to explore you will need a car...not expensive. Bring a GPS with you if you have one, it helps a lot. Great hidden beaches with calm and clear water.
