I'm not sure I understand the question. The forms ask for a family name, middle name and first name. You use your wife's complete name. However, Chinese people don't have middle names. She will have a family name with one Chinese character. Even though her given name may have two characters, it is only one word, one name. You don't want to give her a middle name she doesn't have. My wife's given name is Weihua. It is not first name Wei, middle name Hua as it Wei Hua.

I like putting an ink drawn line ---- in for a middle name.

In your fiance letter of intent, I would refer to her by her full name as he family probably does, as in Li Lihua etc.

It would sound like we are more close to each other.

Why do you think that?

What I meant was if I should say Weihua and I met ... or Weihua LastName and I met... in the description of how we met in the last two year?

When I used my fiance's full name only once and that was at the very beginning of our letter. Other then that, I referred to him only by his first name.

Ok, then I've already answered. Frankly either is fine for that purpose but I would write it as Tang Weihua instead unless her family just doesn't do that. In my wife's family, they call each other by their full name, beginning with the family name. No need to Westernize her name.

What I meant was if I should say Weihua and I met ... or Weihua LastName and I met... in the description of how we met in the last two year?

If you are writing a cover letter you can go ahead and use her first name. My fiance use my first name on the cover letter and my full name on all other documents.

I used C.'s full name the first time I named him in the description of how we met (Q18), and his first name after that. I chose to use his full name just to keep continuity with the rest of the documentation, but I don't think it matters all that much. They're looking for a description of how you met, and as long as it's clear who you met, how you met, when you met, and where you met, whether you use her first name or full name doesn't add all that much.

I wouldn't worry about closeness as the description is sort of artificial anyway. I almost never call C. by his name, it's usually 'sweetheart' or 'babe', but that wasn't going in the forms!

In the letter of intent, I only named him once, and used his full name.
