Very valid point. AFAIK US government rarely goes after the sponsor to reimburse for any benefits provided to immigrant.

Having said that, I would be very hesitant to sign anything like this.

Usually, only close family members are willing to take on such an obligation, once they read what they are signing and understand the personal and financial information they must disclose.

But I have seen a comment from you to a case similar to mine where the couples live together abroad the states waiting for the visa to be done then both spouse move back to the states and you told them just provide domicile evidence and joint Sponsor

(Don't you think it's similar to my case?)

How am I going to convince the officer that I will not be a public charge just by words ?

Or we can work on more evidence like future job offer ,or she can provide her bank account statement showing money on her savings?

I didn't mention that yes the joint Sponsor read the obligations and terms from the form and agreed to take the responsibility

Does she have a Joint Sponsor?

She should really join this thread.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

If she has sufficient liquid assets in her account, she can declare and document those, instead of using a joint sponsor.  If sufficient funds already available, is how you will support each other, then no issue.  You have not provided details.

Time to become an A-Student of the I-864 instructions and the form itself.  Unless that joint sponsor is going to take the responsibility of actually supporting you, you still need a support plan.  What is it?

She doesn't have enough money to support me  that's why we have been looking for joint Sponsor I just pointed out that we have found a  sponsor.  I also read the form it says in short you don't have enough money to guarantee a beneficiary or a spouse you must find someone friend or family to support you and that's what we will do are there also other financial matters that must be met?

And our plan is :

_ we found good joint Sponsor

_ she has some cache on savings to help us        when we get there

_ she has funds and investment to convert to     cash within 12months

_ i have an account with money to use.

_ as part of domicile she has car in the US and property, and she is getting job offers.

Are you saying the joint sponsor will do more than provide and sign papers?  Are you saying the joint sponsor is actually going to support you?  What is  your plan to actually live and pay your living and medical expenses?  You don't have to answer me, but the Consular Officer needs an answer, so you better have one.  Don't expect a Consular officer to believe your joint sponsor is actually going to pay your expenses.

You made it very clear now , the joint Sponsor responsible only for if you become a public charge they will get in touch with him.

My plan to live there is my wife and I will both be working (she get job offers every week from medical fields, plus I have some skills that it will be easy for me to be hooked with a job) plus she has like 150k investment not converted yet but very easy to do so, plus she has 30k liquid at her saving account ,I have been working recent years to save more so I can take like $10,000 with me to use, first weeks until I get a job so both we can support each other and live together.

Do you suggest when she will be filling out the I-864 to add assets? To what she already get from her retirement income?

And to write a cover latter explaining all the above as part of our plans?

What would you do if you were in my shoes?

(All of this is helping me thank you)

The I 864 is a bit more complicated than that.

https://www.soundimmigration.com/

This is a Lawyer that specialists in enforcing the I 864 against Sponsors and Joint Sponsors. He must be quite successful  as that seems all he does.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

@pushbrk

Yes, add and document her assets.  No need for a cover letter.  Just be ready to explain your plan.  Consular officers are tasked with making a judgment call about how likely it is that YOU will become a public charge.  Do everything you can to make that decision easy for them.
