I-751 Affidavit of Support--need letters from spouse's family, too?

We are completing the I-751 form.  I know it is recommended to get some notarized third-party affidavit letters.  I plan to include two third-party affidavits from a friend and a family member here in the US.

My question is: do you think it is important to include a couple of letters from my wife's side of the family?  She is from Brazil.  So we'd have to get them notarized in Brazil.  Mailed to the US.  And then translated.  From the instructions, it looks like these affidavits are the item only that we need to include in the submission as an original document rather than a copy.

Do you think this is important to get some of these affidavits from my wife's family, or can we just skip the hassle?

No, they're in Brazil. Only people who live close and see you often would have something to say.

Affidavits are also optional, I wouldn't bother with her family.

Thanks for your take, and that makes sense.  I welcome any others' perspectives as well!

I wouldn't bother with affidavits at all. They don't mean much, as anybody can lie. Focus on the heavy evidence and skip the less useful stuff.

I'd still include affidavits. They're listed in USCIS instructions. While not the most important evidence, every piece of evidence adds a little bit of weight and strengthens the case. Just not affidavits from people who see you not that often.

I'm definitely going to include some. It's just a matter of how many - - and also whether I bother with the Brazilians.
