*** Thread moved from Bringing family members of Permanent Residents to Bringing Family Members of US citizens as only USCs can sponsor parents ***

Depends on the consulate and their backlog. That’s why there’s variance in the interview wait time.

Is there anywhere I can check relating to a specific consulate? My consulate is Abu Dhabi UAE, when I look up wait times for interview on google, the IR5 doesn’t come up but for all other visa categories I see 21-22 days currently would that be approx accurate?

No, there isn’t a way to track it officially like the non-immigrant visas

No way it’ll be that quick, those will only be non-immigrant visas. Even the quickest consulates are 3-4 months, some as long as 2+ yrs. I don’t know where Abu Dhabi falls in that range but you can search the forum for timelines.

Good luck.

Is there anyone that is currently waiting for an interview date post DQ, can you please share your experience or timeline? Thanks

If you fill out your timeline, there will be a link to see others with a similar timeline.

My wife and I have been waiting 15 months since DQ for an interview for our IR1 visa and it will likely be another 6 months or so at the pace they are going. Not sure if IR5 is in a different queue or not but if it is anything like the IR1 queue you should look into transferring to a different country.
