I was DQed last month.
Although some say 6months but i don't think we can wait that long,
Would expediting our case be a better option ?

Since we dont really have much time cause wife is going through some financial difficulty and i need to come support her

OH OKAY. THANKS.  I'M NEW HERE

HOW DO I DO THAT?

@Crazy Cat has already done it for you.

What kind of case, spousal I assume?

You can request an expedite if you have valid grounds - your wife having financial issues wouldn't qualify you though. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center/immigrant-visas-processing-general-faqs.html#ivp7

Please take the caps lock off. It's considered 'shouting' in forum netiquette.

6 months would be pretty quick, even the quickest consulates are 3-4 months for spouses and Lagos had a big backlog. There's also a much higher chance of being put in to Admin Process in Lagos, so do factor that in. Is your wife a US citizen?

OK, so looking at the most recent CR1/IR1 cases via Nigeria, this is the person with the most recent interview date I can find. Looks like they were DQ'ed last December and had an interview in September if that gives you an idea. https://www.visajourney.com/profile/477348-yommicy/

Good luck.

This is right. And that was even on expedited process since July 1. The workload with backlog of applications in Lagos is crazy. Till this moment, my passport hasn't been returned to me despite interview Sept. 6 and visa issued Sept. 9. If you think you have grounds for expedite process, you should try it and hope NVC/Embassy find a suitable time for your interview, and also pray you're not put in AP after interview

Ah, didn't realise you were expedited, I thought things had just sped up hugely in Lagos (I know it was a couple of years wait for an interview). Thanks for clarifying and good luck.

Wow! thats crazy. Did you go pick it up yourself?

To clarify, how long did it take until you decided to expedite your case? do you mean July 2024?

I don't think i do presently beside finance.

If i may ask, what was the main reason for expediting your case?
