DS260 form-getting error message while uploading pdf file

Hello, I am working on DS260 form. When I try to upload the i-864 form as PDF (File size is 776kb), I am getting an error "Invalid Image Detected". I have tried using different browser but it still says the same thing. The other issue is that I have to upload 3 birth certificates but they are rejecting the file saying it's invalid format. The issue is that the issuing authority has updated all of their birth certificate forms. The US embassy/NVC (whoever is reviewing the files) keeps telling me to upload the correct format. I am not sure what to do now. The issuing office told me that they have no way to issue the old format.

Thanks

You say 'working on DS-260 form', what do you mean - have you submitted it?

What kind of application is this?

yes. i have submitted the application but they rejected 2 forms. One is the i-864 form in PDF and is sized at 776kb. The other is the birth certificate. I am getting "invalid image detected" for the i-864 form. For the birth cert, they are saying the format is wrong. The issue is that I asked the issuing office and they told me that they are not using the old format that is indicated by NVC. So not sure what to do next...

But has the DS-260 been submitted? You said you're still 'working on it', hence the question.

Birth certificates from which country?

Sorry, I forgot to specify. I tried some of their options but this one i think worked for me:

I solved the issue for someone else and saw that it had something to do with the file's property. Here is how you can solve it.

  1. Open the pdf in Word doc. Microsoft Word and save it under a different name since it will be read-only.

  2. After saving the file, save it as pdf.

What is the file size for you? Mine was at 776KB but yet it was not working. So I did open it in WORD then saved it as a PDF. Then uploaded it.

You can also try this option:
We were having the same issue when even we reduced the file size to 365kb. I sent the original document to my email. Instead of downloading, open print option and "save as pdf" instead of "Microsoft print to pdf." That reduced the file size to 236kb, which i was able to attach and submit without any issue. For reference, the original file size was 443kb.

Be sure to keep the original copy saved somewhere and create copies to follow these options..

My files are under the 4MB and are pdf but I am still having issues. I am going to try this and also try converting to jpg.
