We got an RFE for our initial I-864 so we decided to get my spouse's mother to combine her income with my husband's (Petitioner). We're confused as to how to go about several things:

1. Is it correct that my spouse's mother fills up the I-864A?

2. If we go with the I-864A, on the form I-864 (Primary Sponsor) Part. I - Do we also tick the box that indicates that there's a joint sponsor? Or this is not the case since we have a household member?

Also, if you have other tips that can help! Thanks in advance.

You need to file i-864A if she is household member and lives in same residence and want to includer her income.

if she files separate taxes, lives separate, then fill i-864 as joint sponsor
