Does the embassy provide any document once the visa is approved after the interview, or is it just a verbal approval?

If they need additional information, or to do other work such as background checks, you could get a 221g and the color of that paper is meaningful.  If the CO does not give you a 221g, then all you might get is a verbal approval, but even that is not final.  What you need to look for is "Issued" in the online system.

As to how long it takes to get the passport back with a visa, that is highly variable depending on the case and the consulate.  Anywhere from a week or two to over a month or more.

Good Luck!

CR1 visa.

How many days after the interview will I receive the passport if it is approved during the interview?

Just like the first person said, you'll need to see "issued" on the visa status check, but that not the final. I think getting your passport depends on the workload of the Consulate and "only God knows what else". My visa has been "Issued" since Sept. 9 and I'm still waiting for my passport. I've made several calls and chatted but nothing beyond "the embassy will send your passport and send you an email when your passport is sent....." If I know the phone number of the US ambassador, I would've called to plead for the return of my passport since there's visa in it already..😂😂😂

When the status changed to ‘issued’ you can straight away go to the embassy and collect you passport right ?

Usually, no.  Depends on the embassy whether you can ever pick up your passport.  Generally, you will make arrangements during the interview phase for your passport with visa and instructions to be delivered by courier.
