Decision estimate - resets to 24 months every time I upload new evidence

Hello. I know timelines in the USCIS portal are supposed to be unreliable. But every time I upload unsolicited evidence, they reset my estimated time to decision to 24 months. The last thing I uploaded was a joint tax return. 

 

Are they punishing me for making more work for them or something? I don't do this frequently. I've uploaded evidence maybe 4 times in the last year.

My guess would be a Programming issue but who knows?

Those estimates are meaningless.  I wouldn't worry about it.

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

I hope you are right. I am hopeful the fact that we filed jointly and paid taxes on her income will help make the case that our marriage is bonified. It's funny, whenever I see or hear that word, bonified, I think of that scene from O Brother Where Art Thou, where the lady says that her other suiter is bonified.

Give it a little time and the estimate will jump back down. I constantly upload evidence to them and it does the same to me. 

 

Their estimates are a joke and don't mean anything.

I hear you. It's just a little challenging psychologically to see that happen. For me, the last time it reset to 24 months it just came down at a normal rate. One money at a time.

Don't look anymore.  Wait for an email indicating the petition is approved.  Expect it to take about 14 months.  Be psychologically please if it's sooner.

Well the good news is, it looks like there is some movement. It just changed from 24 months to 4 months. And it looks like they reached out to one of my former employers. I saw a letter to them from the employer in theworknumber website dated today. Here is hoping.

As above, ignore it completely, it's useless.

 

Contacting your employer is very unusual though. Are you the petitioner or beneficiary?

I am the petitioner. It definitely seems they contacted them. It is written as a response to a query and provides the dates I worked there any my salary. It is in the work number website so maybe USCIS made the request from there. It is dated today.

Interesting, I have never heard of that site and never heard of USCIS etc using such a site.

To make it even weirder, I went back and checked the i-130. I didn't list this employer because I stopped working there more than 5 years prior to submitting the application.

I have never heard of them using such a service, are you sure it was USCIS?
