Previously approved I-129F (Years ago.)

Hello,

So, long story short, like 6 years ago I filed an i-129f and got approved, it was sent to the consulate in Moscow. Shortly before that, the fiance called it off with me, and I just forgot all about it and tried to move on with life.

Fast forward to today, and I have met someone that I am considering a future with (A much better choice, I might add, I have learned a bit hahaha). But now, I am worried that my previous petition is going to block a future one. What would I need to do at this point? Would they have already closed the case? Do i need to file anything additional if I filed a new i-129f?

Thank you for your  time and help.

I should note, I would also consider doing a CR1 visa instead in this case, too, as the processing times seem to be fairly similar, with added benefits. I am not sure what is more likely to be approved / denied based on my history. I so wish I hadnt filed previously, and that I had followed up, but I honestly didnt expect to consider doing this type of relationship again. Just never know I guess. But any help in who I should contact if anyone, and how to go about it, to make sure my future application if it comes, isnt denied, would be immensely helpful.

I met someone in the Philippines in 2012.  I filed an I-129f.  I found out she was scamming about a year after our engagement and called things off.  The petition was approved a week later.  No further action was taken.  Years later, I'm with my fiance and going through a new I-129f.  I just noted on the petition #'s 43-49 that I had a previous petition and that it was not acted upon.

I strongly recommend getting married somewhere and filing an I-130 petition for a CR-1 spousal visa.  You are correct, the processing time is similar and it is a far superior visa, with the beneficiary able to work, get a driver's license, and function as a normal US legal resident immediately on arrival.  All you have to do is list the previous I-129F on the petition.
