Hi All,

I (US citizen) want to file GC for my parents. I have just started filing in I130 form but I see in documents required are my parents birth certificate and marriage certificate. My parents were born in 1930-1940s during undivided India and we dont have records of birth or marriage certificate.  Could you please provide information of what documents do I have to submit in this case. If there is any affidavit that is required ?

Thanks

In the above link:

For birth certificates its states:

Available: For persons born after April 1, 1970, birth certificates are available. For persons born prior to April 1, 1970, birth certificates are considered unavailable.

It does not states if any other document we have to provide or any affidavit.

Again for marriage certificate also above does not mentions any other document which can be provided is its not available.
