Hi,

I filed  a i-130 form for my brother on October 2019. The only and last update I have is :

"February 19, 2022

Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS

As of February 19, 2022, we are actively reviewing your Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, Receipt Number xxxxxxxx. Our records show nothing is outstanding at this time. We will let you know if we need anything from you. "

Is there anything I should do? Is it average to wait that long?

You're looking at 8- 12 year wait time from file date, if he's still single by then, or 15+ if married.

Nothing to do but chill.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

If you only applied in 2019 then there's at least 15 years until there's a visa available to him anyway, and essentially USCIS doesn't rush the I-130's for case where there is no visa anyway. So it doesn't really matter how long the I-130 takes, although if he's got kids (or may have them at some point in the next 15 years) you want it to take as long as possible.

At some point the I-130 will get approved, but then there's nothing to do but wait until he can actually start the visa application process.

Good luck.

There's no difference if he's married or not, there's only one category (F4) for siblings.
