Sputum Test and medical exam (Split)

Fiancee completed her three day sputum test on 25 September.  She was told on the third day of testing that she passed.  She was informed to return the next day for immunizations.  Her embassy interview is 1 October.  Does anyone know if she will receive her medical package in time to hand carry to her interview?

Are you sure this was sputum testing or that she was told she passed already?  Typically in sputum testing cases they give them a date to return for results in 60 days.  But they have recently introduced new IGRA testing protocols so maybe that's what got fast results(?????)  In any case, if they send her for vaccinations she is good to go.  Saint Lukes transmits the medical to the Embassy electronically so there is no medical package to bring to her interview.  Typically Saint Lukes would transmit results the same day or next day so there is no problem making it in time. For K1's the yellow hand carry packet comes by LBC courier along with her passport and visa after she is approved at her interview.

Just an FYI.... My fiancee had her medical exam at St. Luke's this past August and after her vaccinations, at releasing, they gave her a brown envelope marked "DO NOT OPEN" to hand carry with her to her USEM interview. She was asked for it at the document intake stage of her interview appointment where the Filipina consul opened it and placed the documents with all of her other civil docs, etc.

Thanks.  I thought they had completely eliminated hand carry to the Embassy.  Obviously I heard that wrong.😁

After your wife's interview, was her visa issuance delayed? 

 

As you said she got her immunization on the third day of her Sputum testing.

 

I am asking because it sounds like good news!    Or does she have to wait for the Visa for after the sputum results? Which I thought was 6 to 8 weeks?

SLEC implemented a new rule that applicants can proceed with their immunization and interview despite being under sputum. In return, they will be under 221g due to pending medical. A visa will not be issued yet until the results are cleared and sent to USEM.

 

Once cleared, they will be notified to send their passports via LBC to USEM.

Hello!!! Can you point me to where I can find this information? My parents just finished their 3rd day of sputum testing and they were told to come back tomorrow without any explanation. Just really wanted to confirm if they can proceed with their interview next week. Thank you!

I hope they want them back for immunization. Or could be pulmonary evaluation. The reason should be on the paperwork returned to them. This information came from a group chat of applicants on Facebook.

Visa issuance will be delayed and will be under 221g due to pending medical results. 

 

If culture is clear after 8 weeks, applicants will be instructed to send the passport to USEM via LBC for issuance.

Thank you so much! They went to their interview and as expected,they got the refusal under 221g. Do you have any idea as to when we would hear from St Lukes if the sputum result is not good? I've read somewhere that after 1 week, you will receive a call from them so you can start your treatment.

Yup, some people get called as early as two weeks. Eight weeks is crucial. Some applicants were called on their sixth and seventh weeks to get treatment started. They usually call on Fridays.

 

I pray there are no calls for you! 🙂
