Company Response:

We acknowledge that we were incorrect in requiring Citizenship as part of our requirements for prospective employees.

We have received your resume and will be reviewing it along with the many other applications we have received. If your skills and experience meet our needs at this time, we will contact you to schedule a further interview.

Well, if that happenes I will probably get a job, as they need flight instructors in Alabama. I am kinda hoping on that. I will meet the guy next week and take the I-9 with me and talk to him about it.

You need a GC to get a job at the Post Office, EAD wil not cut it.

Yes, there are certain jobs that require the potential employee to have a GC or even some that require USCship. I work at a high security job which requires USCship and all employees have to go thru a security check with homeland security. After 911 many USC employees were laid off when the security checks came back with blemishes (even though the employees had worked there for over 20 years!)

I would think that flight instructors would be one job that has tight restrictions.

Ok I would just like to see the ruling or a statment from someone like DOL DHS or FAA, as I havent seen anything yet the assumption the Flight instructors need one will not cut it. By the way for US postal services you need US citizenship. As it is considered US goverment.

Actually, you do not need to be a US citizen to work for the Post Office, you only need to have a Green Card. I know this because a Green Card holding friend of mine worked as a mail carrier.

For example: http://www.usps.com/employment/citycarrier.htm

Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to meet the U. S. Postal Service's Employment Requirements. Applicants must also be a U. S. citizen or have lawful permanent resident alien status.

Sorry I will take that back you need to have LPR. You are right. I still think that Flight instructors don't need, if somebody can prove me wrong, I would appreciate.

Maybe you can get some help here: http://airlinepilotforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1

There is a least one discussion thread regarding citizenship and instructors.
