Fiance purposely missed K1 Visa interview

Hello, 

Can I reschedule my K1 visa interview for my fiance or is my case closed?

My fiance purposely ditched out on his K1 Visa interview claiming “cold feet”

He did not notify me or the embassy until after the interview date that he had done so. 
I am so hurt to say the least. But I still want to be with him.

He needs to contact the consulate and ask if he can reschedule.  However, I think you have more serious issues to consider.  Good luck.

Crazycat I agree….I just dont want all my efforts on USA side to go to waste. I am hoping it can be rescheduled.

Like Cat said all you can do is contact the embassy and ask. And hope they are generous, some don't take missed interviews lightly and won't be as understanding.

I didn’t realize that. 
The interview was to be in Lagos, Nigeria. I was told that there will be significant wait times for a new interview date however, it did not state how many interview attempts we have. 
I am hoping the case is not considered closed.

They have a new appointment website so I am just waiting for a response now. 
I can’t think of anyone who would purposely want to miss their interview to come to USA… seriously🤦🏽‍♀️

It seems like he doesn’t want to. Does this not raise a red flag with you? And don’t you mean: “I can’t think of anyone who would purposely want to miss their interview to go to the person they are about to get married to”?
 

If his desire to come to the US would be bigger than his desire to get married to you, that wouldn’t be good. Him purposely missing his interview shows that he is not ready to get married to you yet.

You still want to be with him after he ditched his interview without telling you? Why isn't that a big red flag to you? And you are sure he actually ditched the interview?

I would let it go an move on... Easier said than done but that says a lot about a person's character.

I can, a man who doesn't want to marry you.

Why would you care about the time and effort you've put in thus far? Wouldn't you rather find out BEFORE he gets to the U.S. that he's going to skip out, after you've put in MUCH more time, effort and money?

Well... you do now, and it's your fiance. And at this point instead of trying to see if they can get a new appointment, I'd be sitting down having a long talk. If they are going to do this at one of the biggest appointments of their lives, what will you do when they get "cold feet" at the altar or at any other stage? I can imagine the consulate won't be thrilled about this.

This is supposed to be the person you are closest to in life, someone you're going to marry and share a life and a future together; this is more of a red flag and more serious than you seem to take it as. Specifically because he missed it intentionally.

 

You don't just do that kind of thing to the person you are meant to be marrying etc, especially with such huge impact and potential consequences. I personally wouldn't take it as lightly as "cold feet" nor a case of just rebooking the interview for a new appointment. Huge red flag situation.
