N400 Citizenship Filing @ almost 3 years of marriage and residing in the US without traveling during this period

Hello Everyone,

I appreciate your insight experience and knowledge on this matter before I take a step:

October, 2024 would be exact 3 years my wife and I have legally been married and staying together; our baby would be 1  year old year next month as well. I have not traveled within this period. My first 2 year green card would expire in May 2025.

My question is that can I  file for citizenship  in November 2024 since we have been married for almost 3 years.

Thanks.

Hey dude, dont be in a hurry and spoil your show. You cant jump from one to four. Step by step makes the deal for you. You cant jump over removal of conditions of residence( 2 year green card) to N400. File 90 days before the expiration of your 2 years G.C. You will get your 10 years first. Then afterwards, you can file your N400. Hope this helps.

If the 2 year greencard expires in May 2025, then you are nowhere near being able to file your N-400. Instead, you need to file the i-751 (ROC), you can forget about citizenship for now as you still have a long way to go before you're eligible to file for it.
