I just asked my wife, She said he put down on the application that she filled out the paperwork for her mother.  Wife signed it with her mothers consent.

Older people usually have family, houses, spouses and history in their place thus it show ties to her home country.  It seems to me that tourist visa approval for older people and wealthy people tend to happen vs single younger person from what I have seen in my life.

 

My wife is from Philippines she has about 6 close friends from Philippines that is her close friends within our area, all their parents have been approved tourist visa, thus showing being older shows ties to their home country. And the parents seem to range spectrum from farmers to retired.

I see people alway saying that person applying for the visa has to be the one to fill out the applicaton, which is false, Someone even said it in this thread already.

I know that the person doesn’t have to fill the application. What about the signature it requires? Can I sign it?

At that stage, it seems plausible that the customs officer may believe that individuals are unlikely to flee to another country. Older individuals often have a preference for their own homes. For instance, my grandmother exhibits this tendency; she is reluctant to visit the United States and consistently finds reasons to remain in her own residence.

No one in this thread said that.   Assisting someone is fine.

 

Signing “for” someone is forgery, so don’t do that.

 

And like I said, there is no sponsorship or  “invitation letter” for tourist visas, which is another misconception we see here regularly.

Is signing on behalf of someone legal at all? In short, yes, but only if they've agreed to it. The law states that if you've appointed someone to sign one document on your behalf, or 'by proxy' you're allowing them to act as an authorised representative for that one occasion.Jan
