Hello,

my 90 day period starts Nov26/24 . No rush to file it then but the actual 3 years complete 26 Feb 2025. Have plans to travel abroad for 20 days in December … does is violate any rule of physical presence ??? During 3 year tenure ?
Or will have to come back and wait extra 20 days after feb 26/2025?

staying at same address for one year and will be staying there for another one year for sure !!!

Unless you have a lot of trips in the last 3 years that puts your physical presence at risk, you don't need to offset your 20 day trip. You can file in the 90 day window (if you never had trips lasting over 180 days for a single trip in the last 3 years)

Also, I don't think your calculation is correct. 26 Feb 2025 minus 90 days is November 28, 2024. 90 days is not the same as 3 months.

Given November 28, 2025 is Thanksgiving, just file the following Monday, December 2 to be on safe side.

Yes, you can go for a trip. The only concern is if you're scheduled for biometrics when you're out. Are you planning filing online or on paper? Also see my modified answer with more detail about filing date.

Most likely, biometrics will be reused. But there is a chance you may be called for appointment. If you file online, many get biometrics reused almost instantly. This will give you more assurance to travel without worry.

You potentially naturalize faster.

The 90 days can be used by USCIS to study your case, run background checks and even schedule you for interview if you're lucky.
