We also phoned to book our medical today. We got straight through, they were very helpful! Said they are currently fully booked until the 24th August but have appointments available after then. We booked ours for the start of September as that works best for us, received an email confirmation of the appointment with all the details just seconds after finishing the call. Very easy experience, only took 5 minutes and the lady on the phone was very friendly and helpful!

Oh wow haha so glad I straight-up asked for the 24th! Good luck everyone, hope no one is rushing around too much with their appt back to back with the interview!

Was also able to book for the medical exam this morning  after a 30min wait. Also was able to register for the courier (choose special delivery)

I’m gonna try to have all my vaccines records before the medical exam

Absolutely get your immunizations sorted. You only need a record of 2. Don’t forget your Summary Care Record and police certificate are needed at the medical. There is a questionnaire to take in as well. Start a new thread if you want to ask medical questions. This is supposed to be about interview assignments.

Hi everyone,

Firstly I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's shared their experiences on this thread. It's definitely kept my wife and I hopeful during this long wait.

Bit of context - I'm British and my wife is American. I've been called up for my visa interview on September 7th after being DQ'd at the end of April this year. We are seeking a marriage visa.

I've booked my medical and that seems ok but I wanted to see if anyone else has had problems with the first step in the pre-interview checklist - registering online for the passport delivery service. Attached are the steps I'm referring to. The second image I think is not applicable to me.

I'm not sure why this isn't working but I wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar experience when doing this and if there's any quick fixes?

Thanks al!

Should be Option #1, registering the appointment you’ve been given. Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying - in which case, apologies!

After you have attended your medical examination, you should then register your visa interview through the Visa Appointment Service website at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-gb/iv and follow these instructions:

  • Select “I have received a Consular interview appointment date from the National Visa Center (NVC), Kentucky Consular Center (KCC), or the Consular Section and I have been instructed to register my appointment on this site”;
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to register an account;
    • If your family members are applying under your case number, you may “add” applicants to your account after you have added your own details.
  • You will be asked to select your delivery method for the return of your passport if your visa application is successful. Delivery to a courier depot is free. If you wish to upgrade to home/office delivery you can pay an additional fee through your account;
  • Please go to “Print Instructions” in order to print your courier confirmation page. You must bring this with you on the day of the visa interview.
  • You should also bring your appointment letter you received from NVC.

The above are the instructions posted on the embassy website

With interviews being scheduled, it looks like they are scheduled for MID September at the moment, will more be scheduled towards the end of September soon? Or will the next batch be for October?

I have a lung condition which shows as shadows in my lungs on an xray. Even with a letter from my respiratory specialist they had to conduct a sputum test.

Thank you for your help. Kind of stressing about the medical. I’m in good health but stressing that anything might delay  my departure. I think I’ll book a flight as soon as I get my visa

I wonder if transferring embassies delays things. I was DQ 3-JUN in Colombia, but only transferred to London 21-JUL.

Is your file already in London, ie NVC sent it to London without assigning an interview? Or did NVC just change your preferred Embassy on the paperwork still at NVC?
