The interviewing officer will always be American. Other staff such as the document collector, whose window you are first called to, are often British. They are merely preparing your file for presentation to your interviewing officer.

This was exactly my experience at my interview last month - a British man took my documents, finger prints, etc and an American lady did the interview. Both were friendly and professional. It was such a smooth, efficient process.

I wonder how long the interviewing officer spends actually reading through the application and the tax transcripts etc. I always thought the NVC is just an admin checking system and really its the embassy that goes through the case in detail?

The man who took my documents, fingerprints etc was American and the woman who interviewed me was American... Both very friendly and between spending about an hour in the building upon entering I spent about 4 minutes with each!

@Zeppeli and others with Wednesday interviews...please keep us posted if those hold now (I know that day of the week had been getting rescheduled from the beginning of Jan up to this point). Fingers crossed!
