That’s so cute! I’m just nervous because I met my husband on a dating site while I was on a temp visit. We’re very happily married with a daughter now but...is that a red flag?

I wouldn't think it's an issue, I would think it's how most people meet these days! I met my husband (he's from the US, I'm Irish) on a dating site too, nearly 14 years ago when we both lived in London. I'm sure it will be just fine : ) We are waiting for my interview to be scheduled so we can move to the US with his work. It's a long, slow wait to hear anything, but it's so so helpful to hear everyones stories on here!

It's so hard just waiting waiting waiting, whilst you are trying to plan around such a vague timeline! But hang in there, and here's hoping we all get some good news soon : )

It’s the most amazing feeling when the consular officer says “right I can go ahead and issue your visa.” Truly a wonderful and amazing moment after so long of waiting patiently!

Yay! So happy for you, and it really is beyond helpful to hear : ) This forum has given me more info than anything else I have found by a long stretch, it's fab.

1- How long after you were documentary qualified did you recieve an interview in the US-  London Embassy?

2- How did you get notified about your interview in the US Embassy in London? (I am assuming by email?)

3- How much time in advance were you given / notified about your interview date? (2 weeks, 3 weeks?)

1 - August 6th -> November 13th, so about 3 months and 1 week

2 - My husband and I both received an email on November 13th

3 - November 13th -> December 15th, so just over 1 month

Thanks to all for the support - happy to report today that interview went smoothly and all approved. Not any great detail to add here that hasn't already been mentioned, but of course always happy to answer any specific questions if anyone has, so please do ask away.

Awaiting my passport in the hope that processing will be quick and the real planning can begin :)

Good luck to everyone with interviews upcoming - I don't have favourites but @Andy & Jamie I know how much it's meant to you to have yours coming up soon, am sure all will go well! :)

Thank you so much! ❤️ I've been working like 60 hour weeks just to take my mind off of everything so haven't really been back on here, but I really appreciate the thought. It's so good to see all the positive experiences everyone is having with the interview itself too. 5 days out! HERE WE GOOOOOO

I'm so so pleased for you and @R1CH1991 getting your approvals! May you be reunited with your loved ones as soon as feasibly possible ❤️

I absolutely understand about the need for distraction, but you are so very nearly there!

I must have drafted a UK 'Dreaded 221g' thread a dozen or so times, since being rejected at my Interview on November 23rd, as I've become more and more anxious by the situation.

But, I can now, finally, update my 221g situation! Yay!

23/Nov/2020 INTERVIEW: US Consulate London

23/Nov/2020 CEAC: Rejected

23/Nov/2020 UPLOADED documents as requested by the interviewer

24/Nov/2020 E-mail response to my e-mail notifying the embassy of the documents being uploaded

24/Nov/2020 CEAC: Case last updated, still marked as rejected (I was expecting this to have updated to Administrative Processing)

...

...

30/Nov/2020 CEAC: Case last updated, still marked as rejected (this was the update that aggravated my concerns!)

...

03/Dec/2020 CEAC: ISSUED

ISSUED! ISSUED! ISSUED! Someone plz. pass me some TISSUES so I can wipe away my tears of joy! 16-months of separation, and my flight is now in sight!

...Time to wakeup my wife! :)

Awwww I want to cry along with you. What a relief. I'm overjoyed for you.

Congratulations x
