Oh dear!
This one is out of my depth I’m afraid. Hoping that someone else around might be able to offer some insight for you.

Definitely not the right reason if your expedite has been denied, but your application will still be going through the process, albeit slowly given the current backlog.

I was wrong. Ours is a c21.

This is going to some ignorant I think and I’m sorry if I’m posting to the wrong thread - but the NVC just denied our expedite request on the grounds that the US Embassy has suspended routine visa services. What does that mean? Is it because I’m a permanent resident and not a citizen?

There is a thread to talk about expedites in this UK forum. https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/750883-london-ir1cr1-expedites/

If that’s the correct category, as in, you or your spouse are a permanent resident and you have been married for less than 2 years, then it seems it can be that you’re in the right category.

There was another conversation here wheee someone I think had some confusion (full disclosure, I didn’t read the entire thread) but if this is the case, then your visa won’t be being processed at the moment since it’s only CR1/IR1, CR2/IR2, student and some other emergencies that are being processed

Do keep reading what you can though to see if there’s any other information out here for you and your spouse 🤞🏽

Thanks for your response, one last question if you don’t mind?
if I upload today will they see that then on Monday or would I likely get a further evidence required document and have to wait for the documents to get approved?

Wish I’d uploaded them last month but the letter says you can bring then to interview!

Good luck with your appointment today Steve! Do let us know how it all goes for you or if there’s anything we should know about that might help the process :)

I think I'm likely being silly/ignorant but hoping someone can help..

My husband sent over his W2s for the last three years and has also sent his tax returns: image.thumb.png.1143be22ec498237d8ae26f6e676f0be.png

It's a 98 page document for each year.. do I need to be bringing those along for interview? He has had his 2019 W2 but not his 2019 tax return, and since he filed his taxes as single those years, is there any benefit to me printing 98 pages x3?

Will do if needed, but would rather not walk around with half a tree if I can avoid it I think!

Any advice here is helpful of course.

From my own personal experience- I would advise bringing the latest 1040.

The immigration officer interviewing me requested to see the latest tax return.

I understand your apprehension, however. Especially due to the weight and scale of your 1040s!! 😅

Further, it seems that, despite your documents being digitally submitted, hardcopies can act as the final failsafe-- my documents were all digitally submitted and accepted, yet the IO was unable to see the 2019 tax return. As such, I am now stuck in the Rejected/Administrative Processing pile. Yay. 🥴

Hey Guys,

Visa Medical Completed this morning & £350 lighter.

The process was very straightforward and staff were very welcoming and friendly. I got there 20 minutes earlier than my 11:10 appointment and was seen straight away. 40 minutes spent there in total.

1 step closer to the end. Can't wait for December 14th.

GOOD LUCK  Everyone as you move through this process.

The Rest of August and September DQs.... You are next. Hang in there!

That's so helpful, thank you! :D

Will go stand at the printer for a little while and bring along 2018's 1040.

Have got W2s for 2019 - 2016 which I will bring along, but he hasn't had 2019's 1040 yet so unable to provide that.

Thank you so much for the advice! Here's hoping they are able to review your submitted documents sharpish and you can get those plans in place. 🤞

Best of luck! It seems that the process can be a little unpredictable at times, so I think it is sensible to go in overly prepared.
I printed, and requested certified copies of pretty much everything that had been uploaded, as well as having a photo journal put together as documented proof of relationship- the DS260 print out, print out of appointment (and courier) confirmation, and latest W2/1040 were the only documents that were (physically) requested at my interview.

Though, if you are a CR1 applicant, the printing isn't entirely for nothing- it can all be kept in preparation for the I-751 Removal of Conditions- in ~18months time.

:))

P.S. as to the photo journal I had made-- the first question my wife and my parents asked was 'did they look at the photos?' No. No they didn't. Which made the £20 courier delivery service all the more painful! 😂🤪

Ooh - have I misunderstood again?! I don't have a certified copy of anything because I've got originals of everything I'm bringing along, with the exception of my husband's documents, of course. The way I read the guidance was that you needed an original AND copy but if you didn't have original then needed a certified copy. Please tell me I'm not wrong - no chance I can find somewhere to certify documents between today and tomorrow, especially since I'm at work until this evening!

I have got all of the documents you mentioned though, printed what my husband uploaded and of course I have all of my originals and copies of them all.

My best friends' mother actually made a photo album of our wedding, just some of the less official photos and some of the photos people took she collated and put together so I'm bringing that along with a few photos, airline tickets and receipts/invoices from places we've been and stayed, car rentals, etc. Not lots, but enough I'd say :)

Sorry, I should have elaborated- the certified copies I took with me were:

- Certified copy of my Birth Certificate (and the original)

- Certified copy(/original) of our marriage certificate.

- Certified copy of my wife's divorce decree, from her previous marriage. (this is mostly what I was referring to, with regards to my post - I had to have this couriered from the Texas courthouse to arrive in time for the interview)

Everything else was just printouts of documents uploaded.

Apologies for the five million questions, am sure you understand the slight panic mode I'm in now having just been through it yourself!

Appreciate you continually coming back to me.

That's super helpful! We ordered extra copies of our marriage certificate at the ceremony, I think there's four flying around between us with all the things we seem to have needed it for thus far.

Fingers crossed I've got all that they might ask for - can't imagine them wanting anything more, but as you said, variable process.

Not a problem! I'm completely available and happy to share my feedback- in the chance it could help you or others in anyway- I have been spamming @Dags with questions throughout my process, so I know first hand how helpful this can be! (Thanks @Dags !!) :)

Oh I’ll definitely be back to you if I have any more questions, am hopeful it will be smooth sailing after tomorrow though 🤞🏽

@Dags has been great for me too, thanks!
