Has anyone else just had a call from the embassy to say not to come to the interview? They said mine has been cancelled and not to come as scheduled on Monday. They said they're working on it and they'll ring me to let me know next week. The reason is that the system "isn't recognizing the case number and it's happening to a few people, so don't come on Monday."

The phone number checks out as legit: +44 20 7499 9000.

They said that I'll be able to come 'any time' once it's sorted out and I won't need an appointment. Do these people genuinely think we just live around the corner and can pop by as we wish? Disgraceful.

This has been my motto throughout this whole 14 month long process 😂

Sorry to hear that’s happened to you, I can imagine it’s very frustrating to make a plan and then have to change it. I know it will all work out quickly :)

Just the 26 months for me. Is there an end to this absolute madness?

We got this in an email literally as my husband was arriving at the airport. Now has to cancel his medical which was scheduled for tomorrow too and trying to get refunds for flight and hotel. Have you heard anymore?? Were you able to reschedule yet??

No - it's a joke! They rang me last Friday and said they would ring this week to sort something out. Well, here we are on Thursday and...nothing! I emailed on Monday to get confirmation of cancellation as I was just totally bamboozled by the Friday phone call and how unofficial it all seemed:

We can confirm that your appointment was canceled and that we are working on the technical issue that prevents us from accessing your case.

As soon as the situation is resolved we will contact you to schedule an interview.

I'm frustrated as I have to take a 100 quid train (if I'm lucky...) down to London each time, so can't imagine how you two are feeling trying to coordinate this circus from abroad. It's been pinned on my Case ID not transferring through to London. I wonder if that relates to me transferring my case from Colombia to the UK 2-3 months ago.

Unbelievable. My husband is in St. Andrews and was on his way to Edinburgh to catch a flight to London when he got the email. He ended up not going to the airport and getting a voucher for his flight but the hotel doesn’t want to refund him. What drives me crazy is that if they knew this last Friday when they called you, why did they wait so long to tell us?? If he had known yesterday he could have canceled his hotel and got a refund. I tried calling the embassy but couldn’t get through to anyone after 30min on hold. And now he has to reschedule a medical that will hopefully coincide with his new appointment?? I don’t understand! Telling myself everything happens for a reason but would just like some answers. When my husband told the medical people what happened (he called to cancel because his medical was supposed to be tomorrow too) they were very surprised and said that was unheard of.

Sending you good vibes that it all gets sorted out soon, please keep us updated if you hear anything and we will do the same. :(

Because we are dealing with the understaffed and incompetent entity that is the NVC. Don't bother phoning the London embassy as it seems nigh on impossible that you can get through to speak to a person.

They're a bit more responsive if you email them, as they normally get back to you in 1-2 business days. I'll be bothering them on Monday if they fail to ring my today / this week like they said they would when they rang me last week. This is their email if you don't already have it:

londoninfounit@state.gov
Same to you! I'll keep you posted if I end up hearing something from them.

Very disappointed to say I also got a call from the London embassy today to say my interview on Tuesday has been cancelled due to technical issues. ☹️ Apparently it is affecting about 20 other people and I can't attend the interview on Tuesday as the embassy won't be able to see my application on the system and won't be able to process anything. They said they will contact me to reschedule once system issue is resolved. 😞

Does anyone have a contact email address or phone number for the US Embassy in London that they have been able to get through to please? Thinking to following up for a new interview appointment date asap. If they had the technical issue since 1st October, I'm surprised it has taken them a week and still not resolved today. I wonder if the system issue is affecting everyone or if anyone's interview did go ahead this week?

Check the message above you! He gave me the email address. Don’t bother calling, I tried and waited 30 minutes on hold without ever speaking to a human being.
