Hi, new to the forum so sorry if I'm asking a repeat question.

I have not seen my wife since Dec 9th last year (she is the American, I'm in UK). We have been apart for the majority of our five-year relationship as I was deemed ineligible for a tourist visa as they knew I was in a relationship with a US citizen. I was told by NVC that they had accepted all my paperwork and were scheduling an interview on September 1.

Does anybody know roughly how many months it is taking these days to finally get an interview?

My wife and I are suffering horribly from depression. My wife is vomiting every day from the anxiety. She also just lost her apartment and needs to move out, and my landlord is selling my apartment too. So we are both faced with having to find new places to live, on new leases, in two apartments without any idea of how much longer we have left to wait. It is shocking that the embassy is refusing to give people in this situation, as I'm sure many of you are, any idea of how long to expect. We cannot even plan. My wife is also in her late 30s and we've been waiting for years to have children and now running out of time. I just despair with this process.

I am wondering if this is going to take another year? I know that the MRV fee is being extended to December 2021. And, soon enough, I am probably going to have to apply for a new police certificate as it expires after six months. I cannot believe the embassy cannot even give us a timeline, or perhaps do interviews via Skype.

Anyway, I hope everybody gets a timely interview and ultimately succeeds. If anybody has any idea of roughly how many months from "DQ" (as I think it's called?) to interview day, I would greatly appreciate your advice so I can have an idea of how to plan our life...

Best

Jack

Hi Jack,

Me and my wife were DQd on august 6th and we believe it's 3 months from DQ to interview. With a bit of luck we will find out our interview date either today or tomorrow, if that's the case it'll be just over 3 months l, I'll keep you posted.

All the best, keep your chin up.

It'll be worth it in the end.

Hi Jack, Tom

Earlier on this year, it was about 5 months from DQ to interview (notification coming one month before interview)

A few of us here in this thread have been waiting since the beginning of July and still no interview dates.

I think erring on the side of caution, 5-6 months might be a more realistic estimate of waiting times at the moment.

Fingers crossed to have things still moving along for everyone though.

Keep hanging in there everyone :)

Does anybody know what’s going on at the embassy and why we haven’t had another batch of dates released this month? I’m so worried. I wish we could do more than just speculate!

Yes I am worried too that we are not "mission critical". I have repeatedly asked what they mean by that and they won't answer it. Do we know if anybody is having interviews through November? If so, then we are out of lockdown in December so no reason not to continue making appointments.

As far as I know, November haven’t been canceled, so I have no idea why they wouldn’t be scheduling interviews for next month!

They did say that appointments were limited and people should check for changes, so I wonder whether they have halved the number of people coming in November and maybe bumping them to the month after or something. Just a thought.

They could really stop us speculating like this by just telling us...

Originally I wasn't going to come back here until I got my interview date but just in case anyone finds it useful:

my wife is in contact with her congressman's office who have enquired about our case on her behalf a couple of times. She asked them to clarify whether the London embassy was still scheduling appointments and we got a cookie cutter response - no surprise there. Missus went back to the liason from the Congressman's office who was keen to point out the following:

That being said, it is painfully obvious to me that we aren't getting our dates this month. Maybe I'm just being a ####### about it, maybe I'm rightfully bitter and angry, but honestly I don't believe this response to be true. Every piece of information I've found about this process, be it from the government themselves, from visajourney or anywhere else has either been wrong, out of date or changed right before its about to apply to me. With the way the UK has handled covid I'll be surprised if I hear anything before the middle of next year at this rate. I'm so tired of this.

Anyway I hope the response we got gives someone some hope somewhere. I only hope I'm wrong about it being lies.

Hey guys,

With the long awaited expected interview dates this month that is still not here, it's easy to want to give up hope. We've come too far, so we have to continue to be hopeful and hold on to a glimmer of trust that it'll be over sooner than later. There's still one more day left of this week where we could get lucky! Come on LND Embassy.... Get a move on!!! Good luck y'all 🤞🏾🙏🏾

Hopefully  you guys will hear something from embassy soon! They haven’t canceled any November appointments and they still let DFC and expedite cases

to book appointments. Maybe it will be little bit later this month 🙏🏼

That’s what I’m thinking! Maybe we have been reading into this “pattern” that develop with interview dates being sent out early each month. There have only been two or three months where that was the case, so it’s not really much of a pattern 😂 they might only be running behind by like a week or something, you just never know.

Don't fight the system. You'll freak yourself out. It will happen, just live your life and don't try second guess them.
